Well.. I have hit a wall! I have been trying to get the front lower control arm off of my 70, and feel like my hair is turning more grey everytime I go near it! It is the bolt closest to where the frame starts to curve down near the parking brake cable on the driver's side. I can't get in there to try and hit it with a hammer, because it's on a weird angle. It appears that it's rusted to the sleeve on the inside of the bushing! I have been loading it up with WD-40 and have had no luck. Are there any tricks of the trade to get this thing out without having to torch it? I don't have a torch and am really starting to get frustrated!!

Thanks for any help!

If it is rusted to the bushing sleeve you will not be able to do much to drive it out. I would recommend taking an angle grinder and cutting/grinding the bolt flush with the frame mount. You also have to do the same with the bolt head. You will then have to pry on the edge of the lower arm to force the frame mount out to clear the 1/8 inch of the bolt that is flush with the mount. It will take some muscle but this is just exactly what I went through.

How about cutting through sleeve, bushing and bolt with a reciprocating saw.

Whatever you end up doing, cutting with saw or grinder wheel, do yourself a HUGE favor and be careful not to damage the area around the hole that the suspension bolt goes thru. Been there...done that!
