I cannot get the passenger side door on my 71 to unlock without moving the inside door handle up and down several times. I have the same results with the key and with the inside knob.

I have lubed the latch mechanism and lubed inside the door panel with WD40. I can get it very loose with the door open and it unlocks easily with either the key or the knob, but I have trouble with the door closed (when I open the door for my wife).

Any suggestions!!

My drivers side gets touchy sometimes, every now and then I have to try to unlock it several times before it will work right, my guess is wear on the mechanism allowing it to bind up

mine did the same thing at school. i kicked the door, and worked it a little bit and it opened. then it did it again, and the combo of the key back and forth and a slim jim worked great.

i dont know why this happends.
