Another thread got me thinking about the Napa here in town, sure enough they have paint. It is way in the back corner and has obviously been there awhile. Is there a shelf life on the product before it is catalyzed/mixed/whatever???

I guess the answer is it depends. While I'm no expert, my father and I have used paint that is over 10 years old with excellent results.
