This was my uncles '66 chevelle,he had it back in about the early to late 80's.It was an SS,4 speed,12 bolt with 4.88's,396 .30 over,12.5 comp,almost .600 lift solid cam,and 427 heads.It was the baddest car in the neighborhood.He sold it for around $2800 in about '88 or so!!!It was almost my 1st car,but my dad wouldn't let me buy it :mad: :sad:

My brother had a 68 SS, and dad helped him drop in a 427. 4.88s and an 4-speed too (with a Vertical Gate shifter)...

I have thought about trying to buy it back, and when I checked about 6 years ago, the owner was the same guy that bought it from my brother back in 1980 or 1981...

Damn, I am going to have to buy a scanner and get out some old photos...

What is the round thing on the rear quarter under the Super Sport logo. Looks like an older car security system that used a special key. Neighbor down the block had a similar device on a mid 70's Corvette when I was a kid, reminds me of that.

Those were the days.....huge engines.......cheap fuel.......bias ply tires......hot chicks.......104 octane......grudge racing.......whose car is just plain fast.....hot chicks......."jacked up" cars......a baseball bat for a security system.....tunnel rams.....fender flares :( ......cruisin till 3 am.......67 cent per gallon fuel.....Cam 2 racing oil.......a set of points goin south......hot chicks........a 4 speed shifter locking up.....listening to a rockcrusher whine.....the hottest car in town pulling the front wheels off the ground....the cops "layin low".....neighbors 69 Z28 buzzin past my house and my non car guy neighbor goin nuts on him for shifting it at about 7 grand in third past my house....it will never end......I hope......

I wonder why he did the '67 version of the rear cove?...center emblem, "Chevelle" emblem missing. :confused:

He didn't do anything to the body,paint,emblems,etc.The only thing he did was put in his motor from a previous chevelle,and did all the brakes.He bought it as a roller,was in about 1980 or so.
