I have been told it(the baking soda) leaves a film that you have to clean off before you can prime(big pain). I would look for a guy that shoots plastic beads and does auto's on a regular basis!

I have used both soda and beads and I like the soda the best, as for the flim, its not a big thing it just washes off. Clean up after the fact was very easy, The blaster came to my home blasted and the next rain all the soda disappeared. The guy that did my El camino said as long as I kepted the car inside, I could leave it for about 6 months, before you would start getting surface rust. He did all the jams, the bed and the complete bed for $450.00, that was coming to my house.

I had all of the panels on my car soda blasted and I think it turned out great. Especially on items like the hood and deck lid where it would be nearly impossible to strip all the paint and gunk from the underside. The bonus also was that it stripped out all of the seam sealer so it was easy to reseal everything. The only problem that I had was the guy put a dent in my deck lid and claimed that it was there already.

I had mine done with soda it did a nice job but did not remove the caulk or rust and it does get washed with water when finished. My car was on a rotisserie when it was done, the rocker had concrete like material (soda+water) it took me months to get it out. I will do plastic next time.

I just looked at that web site and there are two things that look a bit strange to me: They are blasting that 55 without having the glass and trim taped or covered. Will the soda blasting allow that without any damage? Then they power wash the blasted steel with water (I guess). Won't it rust right away if you do that? Also, what do you use to get the soda residue off before primer?
