It was suggested to me to post this here ,that it might be a mech. problem instead???????? Thanx for any help

What would make the coil contact under my dist.cap get worn down to the
plastic with not even 100 miles on the cap? I have a MSD billit dist,SS coil and a 6al box.
Thanx for any help. This is starting to get old quick..............

Maybe if somehow the rotor is sitting higher than it is supposed to be. I know the MSD only has one way to go on. I think there is a notch on one of the sides. Make sure the rotor is fully seated and is flush with the notch.
