My hood fits way too tight at the front. Cant close it. If I shim my fenders on rad support up will it widen the gap in the front? Or do I need to shim the rad suport? I saw a pic of another 65 and it had the same problem...any ideas?

If you remove the latch will it open and close ok? Will it fit the opening ok?

Thast not it. The hood fits too tight on the sides at the front. If I close the hood I'll remove paint on the fenders.

Ahhhh, yes you will have to shim the fenders. Now I much rather fix WHY they are like that instead of shiming but if they are painted and nice then the shimming may be the only way.
As I see it, there are two reasons that this would be occuring. The rad support is bent forward in the middle thus "shortening" the support and pulling the fenders together. As I remember on the 65 rad support has a large bow towards the front. If it were bent back it would lengthen the support. I may be wrong in the direction but which ever direction would cause it to "shorten" is the problem. Or the fenders are misshaped at the front causeing the tops to roll in. If the thing was not painted, you could put a jack across the fenders at the support and put some pressure while pushing the support what ever direction it needs to go to lengthen the distance between the two.
