Hello Members,

My name is Ryan and I am the owner of UMI Performance Inc. I have been referred to this site quite a few times buy some members and I finally got a chance to sign up and take a look. It is a very nice site and it is good to see a few members running our components.

I thought it would be appropriate to introduce myself.

Regards :)

Ryan,
I had e-mailed you a few weeks back to ask you if you make the lower controll arm brackets for A-body, I see that you list them for G-body.

Bill- Great to hear and I look foward to working together again!

Art- Check your e-mail when you a chance, I am pretty sure they will work but I have double check. We are hoping to get some garage time next week with my 72. I think I wrote 2 days ago.

Thanks!
Ryan

Ryan,
I was wondering if you got your 72 into the shop to check the relocation brackets? I double checked my mail and did not see a e-mail.

I would think that if the lower armes are the same length for both A and G bodies that they would work.

Hello Art,

I did finally get a chance to try them out and they will not work correctly. Here is what I found. The G-Body rear uses 1/8" thick rear control arm mounting points while the A-Body uses a 3/16" thick flange which on mine actually measures oversize at 0.210". This isn't a major deal but I do not like sloppy fitment. The next thing we found is the rear mount does sit on the rear slightly different and the shock mounts slightly different. The G-Body relocation brackets will fit but with the A-Body it does not let enough area to insure strength when welding the brackets in place.

We are planning on running a batch for the A-Body vehicles in the near future, please check back. Thanks again for the patience!

Ryan
