I just installed a HEI distributor, and now it is giving noise to my radio, has anyone had the same problem, and if so what is the cure to get the noise out, any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

Replace the condenser located inside the distributor, near the module.

Do you have the low-resistance carbon button? Never had a problem with radio noise when using one, although I understand that it has the potential to be a problem. (I don't care about radio anyway--it's a Clear Channel world, and radio sucks.)

Naturally, you are using TVRS (resistor or spiral-wound) plug wires and resistor plugs, right?

what is a low-resistance carbon button?

The contact between the underside of the coil, and the rotor. Installs into the distributor cap before you drop the coil in.

The regular high-resistance button will get hot enough to melt the cap if used in a performance application, so the low-resistance version is "usually" preferred.

Maybe a better radio?
Or go to the local stereo place. I beleive they make inline resistors that would cure this.
