now I get an ominous sounding late august for a ship date, revised from the original june 14th.

Guess I can write off this summer!

Tell me about it, I am building a motor that I was hoping to run before the snow sometime. Well, I ordered my heads from AFR at the first of May and they told me mid to late September before I have them and I'll have them on the motor and the motor broken in just in time to slip on the ice walking out of the shop!!! I HATE SNOW

I know exactly what you're talking about, waited 7 weeks for a hood, when I was told 3 to 4 days when I purchased it.
Still waiting on some of the interior pieces from a kit that I was told they had it in stock when ordering the kit. (received 75% of the kit on time)
Now on the third week waiting for an exhaust system that was going to be here in 2 weeks.

It seems that the suppliers are waiting until we place an order before they order the parts needed.
Nobody wants to keeps parts in stock, that way they don't tie any of their cash up and we have to wait.
I'll pay more if I can get the parts shipped when I order them, but if they say they're out of stock, I will continue looking for my parts with a supplier that stocks the parts, most of the time I can get a part all the way across the country before I can get them local.
What a Bummer :(
