I have a 65 chevelle with a roof mount rear view mirror. I want one of those billet rear view mirrors but all of them are windsheild mount mirrors. Will that work? Has anyone done that? Also how does the windsheild mirror mount to the glass? Thanks Josh

I believe they just stick to the glass.

The windshield-mounted rearview mirror assemblies screw into a metal piece that's held onto the windshield with adhesive. Auto parts stores carry this adhesive, "specially" designed for re-attaching this metal tab back onto the glass windshield. It withstands the heat found in the car's interior/windshield surface on hot days with the windows closed...be sure to completely clean the windshield glass before applying the adhesive.
