Hello,

I just bought a 1968 Chevelle, which I love. The bodys in great condition but I think the engine has seen better days.

Its a 307 which the guy said was bored out over .30. Its seems to be lacking power at acceleration. Last night I noticed a little build up of Radiator fluid between the manifold and the head on the front right corner. This leads me to believe theres a crack or leaky seal which could be the cause of my problem.

Also It has a holley carb on it which i'm hoping someone may know where the part number would be located.

I'm still new to this whole expierience so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rob

Could be most likely carb problems. Needs tuning or rebuilt. Just a suggeston

The Holley part # and date code should be on the front of the choke horn. As for it's sluggish performance, it could be a zillion things, some of which may or may not be related to the coolant leak. Timing, ignition condition, cam condition, etc., etc.. The coolant leak is most likely a gasket problem (intake or thermostat).

Thanks....

This at least gives me a general list of things that I could look into. -R

Congratulations on your purchase. Maybe you could provide a little more info. such as cam, exhaust, trans., gear ratio, etc. All things considered a 307 is a fairly small engine with a fairly low compression ratio. I know I have one too. But after you get around that, it is a small block chevy!!! And small block chevys can be made to run. Even if it's only a 307. You just need parts that compliment each other to get the most performance out of it.
