: Anyone use the Wesco 3pt belt kit?

I think I've made it through all of the various seat belt posts...But I'm still having a hard time picking a make and model that will fit my 67 convertible. I want 3pts, lap and shoulder, retractable, front and rear seats. Maybe I'm trying to do somethink that can't happen.

Wesco seems to have something that can work, but I'd like to hear from some one who used them.....

I'm not sure what you are really looking for here... how to put 3 point belts in the convertible or experiences with Wesco belts?

FWIW I have Wesco 3-point in my 68 El Camino. I like their nut plates very much and used them for 3 out of 4 mounting points. I am happy with the belts but there are a couple of "special" features:

You must pull the belt out of the retractor slowly or it will lock, the retractor seems a little over sensitive. But I guess it is better to err that way than the other.

I run a bench seat all the way back. In this location the buckle belts are a little too long. I need to figure out a way to shorten them so the shoulder belt is better placed.

Thanks Varoom - I think I was looking for a little of both. I am comfortable with the Wesco 'special' features. And I thought the 20" lead for the bench buckle would be too long as well. I ordered the 11 lead for the front seats and will test fit them in the rear.

Interesting you would mention the 11" lead...

I sent them a question via email yesterday about how to shorten these belts and that was their suggestion exactly. I had not paid too much attention to the length of the inner buckle belts when I bought them. I guess I need to measure and possibly buy the shorter versions at $9.95 each plus shipping.

Vroom,
I should have the 11 inchers by next week and will be doing a test fit in the back. I'll let you know how they turn out. I kind of like the idea of having the 'sleeved' buckles in the back anyway. I have a 3 and a 5 year old who can buckle themselves in if the buckle is stiff, but if I used the 20" floppy one I'd need to give them a hand......

Based on my experience with my 8 and 11 year olds, you will still want to at least check their belts. They have a challenge with the non-floating buckle on the retractor side. They often do not get the belt tightened up.

Myself, I like the non-floating buckle. It means I can cinch up the lap belt nice and tight and it stays that way. Need something to keep from sliding right off the end of the seat :)
