Looks like I may be sending my TCI P.O.S. TH400 transmission back to Summit. I would like to get something more drag race oriented than street oriented. I looked at a Jerico online that comes as a 3-4-or 5 speed.... Any other suggestions?? Needs to bolt-up to a 383 Chevy. Thanks,
Steve

Transmission decision is dependent upon how much you are willing to spend. My choice is the Jerico 5-speed, but the transmission and shifter will set you back about $6k.

What don't you like about the tci? Did it break?
I have a tci th350 behind a 406 that runs mid 12's and am very happy with it. Its been in there for about 3 years now.

Most ppl here will disagree with me but I am running a 200 4r from a buick grand national. A 1200 hp capable tarnny should set you back less than 2k. The Buick guys are running in the high 8's / low 9's on these things. The biggest upgrade you really need is the billet input shaft on them. Try going to CKPerformance.com Chris there helped me get my tranny set up.
