: Looking For Transmission Suggestion Steves65 Jun 26th, 05, 10:19 PM Looks like I may be sending my TCI P.O.S. TH400 transmission back to Summit. I would like to get something more drag race oriented than street oriented. I looked at a Jerico online that comes as a 3-4-or 5 speed.... Any other suggestions?? Needs to bolt-up to a 383 Chevy. My choice is the Jerico 5-speed, but the transmission and shifter will set you back about $6k. turbo Jun 27th, 05, 11:25 AM What don't you like about the tci? Did it break? I have a tci th350 behind a 406 that runs mid 12's and am very happy with it. Its been in there for about 3 years now. supervette Jun 27th, 05, 1:05 PM Most ppl here will disagree with me but I am running a 200 4r from a buick grand national. A 1200 hp capable tarnny should set you back less than 2k. The Buick guys are running in the high 8's / low 9's on these things. The biggest upgrade you really need is the billet input shaft on them.
