I am new here and I am sure that this topic has been covered a lot.
I looked back as far as I could and found a little bit of info but really need some more.

I'm sure that a lot of you out there have done this conversion already.
How about posting a few links for me to places with kits, install reports, etc.
Also, anything you may wish to share, such as tips and warnings, etc.

We have a 70 Chevelle with a 330 (punched out 307) in it and are starting to line up a 383 stroker for it. We will be running 3.73's in the rear and will want a manual tranny with an OD so we don't pay too much to the Arabs.

You can email me privately also if you wish.

Thanks a lot.

Since you are going from the auto to a stick, you mght want to consider a complete kit. The kits from Classic Chevy 5-Speed are the most complete and best thought out. There are several different levels of kits, the most complete includes the bell housing, clutch and everything necessary to make the swap.

If you need more info please visit the web site or contact me or one of the other reps for more detailed info.

mcattac,

If you are looking for an OD tranny, The Tremec TKO 5-speeds are something you should look into.

Here's a web site that will give you a lot of good info about the TKO's and most important a lot of information about the installation for your 70 Chevelle.
