I have noticed both in my assembly manual and in pictures posted by others that there is a "Chevrolet" name plate attached to the grill-fender header panel on the driver's side of the '69 Chevelle. My car does not have one and has no holes for one in the sheet metal. Did some cars have these and some not? Is this maybe an aftermarket or replacement/repair panel?

mine says "chevelle by chevrolet"
maybe yours is a malibue?

That could be - but didn't even the Malibus have a "Chevelle" or a "Chevrolet" up there? I'm just wondering why no holes if there's supposed to be a name plate.
