Hey everyone... Im taking a class at city college for welding. something i can apply to working in a shop and on my 71'. there are a couple to choose.... tungsten inert gas welding of aluminum, stainless steel, and other metals used in industry. And the other one deals with the same plus oxyacetylene cutting flux cored, gas and etc. Would it make a diff. ? Thanks ! The first thing you will learn at the class, what ever one you choose is going to be the basics of Metalulgy. That is the thing that will teach you the most. You will likely not be using a TIG so what you learn about the use of the TIG will not be that useful. I would take the MIG and gas class and then after you get bit by the learning bug go back and take the TIG class. At that point you will be proficient with the MIG and you will REALLY soak up what the TIG class teaches.

Good for you, there is nothing like sitting down in a formal setting and learning something. You will find that you will have a POWER you never knew you had. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I have an acetylene outfit and a MIG unit. Those will handle just about anything you could ever want to do on a car.
