Anybody recommend these? I am disassembling a 67 chevelle. Wife worried I won't get it back together. I tell her (saw it somewhere in TC) that parts left over = less weight = better gas mileage.

Are they worth it?

Absotively. The $20 spent on this manual will be the most effective money spent on your entire project. Especially if you are working on a restoration project. The original GM shop manual (Shop Manual, Chassis Manual, Chassis Service Manual, Body Manual) can also be a wealth of information. Sometimes just the pictures showing one thing show you something you something else you need to know.

I agree...

A great investment...

And I would also pick up the others mentioned...

The Fisher Body manual will show you how to R&R windows, etc and adjustments...

I agree. Best dang money I ever spent was the TC membership. I got my money's worth before I was a member. Some dude name No-Neck lead me over here.

I buy one for each car I buy. You may not need it a lot, but it's difficult to know where every part goes.

I agree that it is is a good idea to buy an Assembly Manual for your year. But, be aware, the Assembly Manual is not a step by step reference on how to assemble your car. The manual for a '65 is mostly a collection of roughly drawn diagrams. These books were put together for line workers who already know in general how GM cars are put together. The manual just provides details to help line workers apply the skills and knowledge they already have to a new model or year. Sometimes just isn't very helpful for me.

Bag and label every single set of fasteners and retainers. Example: L/door parts, R/door parts, cowl and wiper, dash, heater, etc. Take photo's of entire process. Buy the assembly manual, and Fischer body manual. My Elky has been apart for eight years, taken apart by three different professional technicians, is being reassembled by different people, and me, mostly me. Twelve different people have worked on, and had a hand in doing this project, when time and $$$$ allow. The record created when taken apart has been invaluable during reassembly process. The books are a great reference tool. There is NO WAY to remember ALL details without some help. P.S. This project started out as an exterior only paint job, ended up full frame off. There is NO part on this car that hasn't been touched, repaired, renewed etc. I also parted out four more cars, for inventory, plus have spent, over $10,000.00 on motor, trans, rear end, new fasteners, assessories, trim, stainless lines, hoses, disc brakes. Still not done! Doing final fits now. It still needs wheels, interior, exhaust, bumper plating, and paint. Car has original 396, warmed up, 700 R4, 373 posi. It is very easy to get into the "if it is worth doing, let's do it right" mode. I know I am nuts, but I would do it again!!! Karl Have fun.
