: Sold my car... again...

I'm not sure if I should be happy and pumped that I finnaly made some money on selling a car (lost money on every other car I've ever sold)- or bummed that I now have no cool cars left...

I came to the realization a week or so ago that I was above water with my cutlass as far as what i had in it vs what it was worth- but whatever the next "improvment" I made to it (wheels/tires, headers/exhaust/ vinyl top were all on my list for later this summer) would put me upside down as far as the value. So for kicks decided to put a for sale sign on it and post on a couple free classified sites... Darned if it didn't sell the second day to the second guy to look at it for close to my full asking price.

So now I have a nice little pile of money (or will on tuesday when he pays the remainder) but No cool toys...

Feels kind of weird. First time in 6 years that I have not had a muscle car of some sort. But at least my list of cool cars i've had is growing... Not bad for a 27 year old...

Anyway...
69 Elcamino Custom - sold 2002
68 Delmont 88 Convetible - Sold 2002
70 Elcamino SS - Sold 2004
69 Camaro - Sold 2005
67 Monterey Convertible - Sold 2004
70 Cutlass S - Sold 2005
....NEXT???

Good to hear that a profit can be made.

I think my next car will be started at a "for profit" thing. you know, just do the cosmetic stuff right off, and wait for the buyer to come along.

then the next car will be some kind of kit car. ground up thing that's all fiberglass.

My neighbor wants to look for another car for him and I fix up and "flip"- but I really don't know that I want to do that. The things I choose to do to my cars get done "Right" because I do it with the intention to keep (which I never seem to wind up doing anyway)... that just usually means I end up spending way more on it than its worth...

I don't know... maybe could be cool. Get to play with more interesting cars that way...

hmm... I don't really want another project that needs everything- I want something nice again- so I think I may save my $$ for a few months to build it up a bit, then this fall start seriously looking for a 65-72 a-body convertible with decent paint and bodywork to start with.... We'll see.

Maybe a 69 of some sort this time to match my username again...

Headed north tonight to look at one... :(

If I decide to buy it, one that's in my signature will be for sale...

Looking at a '72 ragtop. IF it works out, I'll probably sell the '67...we'll see...
I'll never sell the '70...too much damn fun.
Sorry for stealing this post, Ben!! :o

No problem bill- You still coming up for the northwest aces regional in august? Remember, I owe you a beer for those control arms, and I aim to pay up! :D

Hmmm....

Fly from ATL to SEA for a free beer...sounds like THE plan to me. :beers:
However, the ACES1 cross country tour is off for me...wife can't get away from work right now for the two solid weeks! :(

But, we sure could arrange to fly up for the show.
The only one of the ACES regionals we missed last year...
