Hey guys.. Heres a question? If I painted my block Body color with the same paints I am going to use on the car will I run into burnoff and peeling? Is a high temp coating necessary? I am either thinking of using the body color or possibly using the POR engine Paint if body color is unacceptable.. Anyone have recommendations?

Good urethane paint will work just fine and won't 'burn' or discolor. The smoother the engine's surfaces, the better the paint will look and if it's smoother it will clean up better in the future. I've used the small die grinder 'cones' to smooth the most prominant parts of the motor like the heads, and the front/top of the block. I even primered the block first with a light coat of urethane primer after a thourough washing of lacquer thinner.

Jimmys tellin ya right. I did my 396 with bc/cc to match the body color. Not even coloring around the headers. And a whole lot easier to keep clean if it's smoothed out also.
