: Denzel Washington, great guy!
SweetShot Jun 23rd, 05, 12:07 PM Brooks Army Medical Center
Don't know whether you heard about this but Denzel Washington and his family visited the troups at Brooks Army Medical Center, in San Antonio,Texas (BAMC) the other day. This is where soldiers that have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the States, especially burn victims. They have buildings there called Fisher Houses. The Fisher House is a hotel where soldiers' families can stay, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base but as you can imagine, they are almost completely filled most of the time.
While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how much one of them would cost to ! ;build. He took his check book out and wrote a check for the full amount right there on the spot. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear this story and want to get the word out to the American public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it.
The question I have is why does Alec Baldwin, Madonna, Sean Penn and other Hollywood types make front page news with their anti-everything America crap and this doesn't even make page 3 in the Metro section of any newspaper except the base newspaper in San Antonio.
I got an email that has pictures embedded, am unable and don't know how to share those, but they are wonderful shots of Denzel and the troops and hospital personnel. Way too cool!

rant on
Shutting their flappy mouths about things they know nothing or very little about (foreign policy and world affairs - see Madonna, whore turned Jewish mother that writes childrens books) and practicing what they preached (energy restircitons and limitations - see Barbara Streisand bitching about people using too much energy, yet, living in a MASSIVE house and flying on jets all the time...wont see that b*tch line drying her clothes) would be good enough for me.
They wont donate or redistribute their wealth to the folks that really need it because it (socialism) is also something they preach and fight for yet never do (See Baldwin clan and Michael Moore) because, although they want it, they dont want it to affect THEM.
God I hate hollywood and the high school dropouts they give a political stage to. Actors need to stick to their profession (lying and pretending to be people they are not, never have been, and never will be)
Ok /rant off :)

Sounds like politics to me ;)
cjlandry Jun 23rd, 05, 1:31 PM I agree with all that Midnight said above.
I also agree that Denzel did a good thing with his donation. I don't recall seeing him on a stage with Michael Moore, Barbra Streisand and their colleagues. Of course, just because I didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Rach, it's always good to check with Snopes.com before you post any forwarded emails here. You'll notice that the "snopes patrol" was a little slow with this one. It took an entire 23 minutes for someone to post the snopes link this time. ;)

Oops. Sorry, did not mean to imply anything specifically about Denzel Washington. To my knowledge, limited as it is, I have not heard him go crazy ala, Janine Garafalo and such.

BB_Mike Jun 23rd, 05, 1:34 PM All I know is, "Freedon costs a buck-0-five. So why don't we all put in our buck-0-five." Yeahhhhhh, Buck-0-Five.
three85stroker Jun 23rd, 05, 1:36 PM Did any of you ever see the movie "Team America: World Police"?
Although it has some very vulgar language, all from puppets, it kinda hits the mark on all the movie stars having their heads up where the sun don't shine, and no, I don't mean the north pole in the winter ;)

The trailers I saw led me to believe that it was another Hollywood propoganda tool. The title led me to the same conclusion.
I had no idea that it made fun of the Hollywood bleeding hearts society.
three85stroker Jun 23rd, 05, 2:02 PM You'll pee yourself watching a fat Michael Moore puppet blow himself up with dynamite.
You're doing yourself a disservice by not watching this movie at least once.
SweetShot Jun 23rd, 05, 2:30 PM Chad, I was just cking Kurt's reaction time, was planning on seeing how long it took him to snop me out. See...I was TRYING to snare him inot my web.
Then the doorbell rang and had to show the house on the spur of the moment, don't you love those types of people?
"You are not busy are you? Can we see your house NOW???????"
Good thing I have no life at this moment. House was spotless.

jakeshoe Jun 24th, 05, 9:24 AM I don't classify denzel Washington as a "great" guy, no matter what he does anymore.
I like his movies, but saw an interview once where he was complaining about discrimination, etc..
The guy is at the top of the food chain and he's bitching about how hard ti was to get there...
At least this country is free enough that he can get there... EVERYBODY experiences discrimination at some point, most of us will never get to his level of wealth and luxury in life.
Pretty disappointed in him after seeing that.

It offends everyone equally..... And you will need tissues and muscle relaxers from the massive spasms of laughter. I laughed so hard I had sore torso muscles the next day...
The fight scene, vomit scene, and sex scene... OMG!
novaderrik Jun 24th, 05, 4:18 PM "Everyone Has Aids"
"I'm So Ronry"...
