I saw the “Lou Merrell” postings, dated: 2-16-01, I think He is talking about a 1/2 quarter skin that extends up to about the middle of the fender. But what about an 80% panel from Goodmark, for about $200.00. I have some damage front & rear of the wheel opening of my 70 Chevelle. The damage extends to but not past the corner into the door seal area, so I need a panel that raps into the door jam just after the first bend. Has anyone installed this panel and does it make the this bend into the door jam or not. Also dose this panel rap over the top edges by the side window & rear fender or just up to the upper corner. I have called a lot of the catalog companies, some say the do rap and some say the do not rap around. And is this a good fitting panel or should I buy the $500.00 FULL quarter panel.
Thanks
Bob

From my experience with patch panels, I would definitely go with a full quarter if they were available.

Sorry to but in here ,BUT.On the repro 80% quarters i have heard something about the wheel well lip being too wide on the repro's.Does anyone know anything about it?
I'm talking about the $125-$150 panels that go from the body line all the way down.
Thanks

Bob my advice is buy the full quarter. Those 80% jobs never seem to fit it doesnt matter if its for a 70 chevelle or 94 chevy pu they never fit. Ive installed two goodmarks quarters and soon to be working on the 3rd and 4th. They fit great look great and even cheaper to install then those 80%. Cheaper because of the labor involved to fit them right. In my opinion the goodmark full quarters are damn close to being an equal to NOS quarters. The difference is the very slight lighter gauge of metal...Eric

We use the 80% 1/4's with great success at the Camaro shop, they are one of our best sellers. Goodmark does not offer a Chevelle 80% 1/4, thoe are only available for 67-9 Camaros. That said, the best game in town is the complete 1/4 from Goodmark. THey fit very well.

I put the %80 panels on my car.Never again. The cheaper price in inviting but its three times the work. They give you to the bottom of the sail panel but to seam them up that high is a major PIA.to many curves and contours. The right side i seamed up high, the left i did down low and was much easier.See the pics in my sig link.Unless your on a tight budget,a good bodyman,or have lots of time go with the full panel. If your paying someone to do it then really go with the full panel. Also the %80 only goes just inside the jamb, and i cut that off because its not accurate enough to match the contour of the door.Hey IGOTTA71,i agree about the camaro panels. There nice and i used them on my 68, but on a camaro you have a nice flat area to make the seam, not so on a chevelle unless you stay low.
