Does anyone know whether the 72 Malibu came with a glass or plastic rear window from the factory? Also, who has the best original black top? I'm looking at the Original Parts Group.

I bought my top from this guy. While I got the wrong color top (black instead of white), I did not check it before dropping it off to the installer. Also, they did take care of me because of the mistake. I am happy with the top.

Glass on my 71.

from what I understand (may be wrong) 64-67 had plastic and 68-72 had glass from the factory. My 68 has glass, I'm sure your 72 should have glass.

My 71 had glass as well.

My 69 has glass also.

Regardless of originality....Have you ever seen an older plastic window? You can't see out of them. My freinds 68 convert with a 10yr old plastic window is completely clouded over. Glass is the way to go
