I've been using Meguiar's for a while and I'm pretty happy with it but I was wondering if there's something better out there. Anyone know? I have 14 year old black enamel on my car, not in too bad shape, just has swirl marks and water spots. I guess buffing would be my best bet but I don't have access to one. Also, what's a good wax to use?

The guys here are frantic about a wax called zaino wax.. www.zainobros.com (http://www.zainobros.com) also I would probably compound the car (pay a pro too do it) then wax it with this stuff.. Good Luck, Let us know how it works out http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Shawn, try 3M's "Imperial Hand Glaze"...awesome stuff,I've been using it for years, but never on anything with older paint..so,I tried it on my 70 SS454 that has a 20+ year old black cherry enamel paint job and was very impressed http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif The car has been garaged since 1984,and the paint is in good condition, but it didn't have that "bite",and the glaze brought it back nicely.

My ISP wasn't working last night so I didn't get to check this topic but in the meanwhile I bought some Meguire's two step (two separate bottles)cleaner and polish and it worked wonders. I've never seen the hood that clean, smooth and shiny before! I can see it'll still need buffing though but this is some good stuff. I'll try out what you suggested as well next time I'm at the parts store. Thanks!
Here's some pics of it after the polish:
