Drove the car to his house today and gave him the keys. The look on his face was priceless. I hope it darkens some of the gray hair I gave him as a kid. I love that guy.

Thanks for all the tech. info I used off this site while I was building it.

What a great gift. What a great son.

I bought a 67 Grand Prix last year and boasted to my friends that "if my pop were still around I'd give him this car", he would have loved it too!

My hats off too you!

I have talked with many men on the subject of loosing a father. It just gave me the motivation to give him a great present now, to enjoy everyday while he is in good health. He loves cars , because of that passion I have learned about cars with him. Eventually he will pass and alot of his memorys will be left with the car and family will enjoy the stories about Dad and the Chevelle.

Thanks to all, Tim

That is absolutely, without a doubt one of the greatest things I've ever heard! You done good!
I built and painted many cars over the years with Dad standing by. Usually, making me do a better job preparing the car for paint than I would have on my own, but the end results were always much better. Though he's not around anymore, his memory is present every time I'm in the garage with a wrench or spray gun in my hand.
I've got a video of Dad driving the last vehicle out of my driveway that I built and painted for him, a 1965 1/2 ton pickup. (It goes without saying, that it was a Chevrolet) I'm going to have to find that and take a look at it today.

My dad drove (and wrecked) many an a-body back in the day. I think this is something I want to do for him someday!

That is truly an awesome thing to do.

Thanks Rachael for posting the pictures for me. I think my pops is afraid of the car. It is much faster than he is used to. I tried to show him how to do a burn out but got a lecture on tire wear, go figure. I think all the smoke was choking him, Ha HA. Its a 383 auto 3:26 gear posi, and disc brakes to stop em. He doesent like spending the extra moneny on hi-test as he calls it.

I really love the old fart. I bet he is racing one of his budides as we speak, in a wheel chair and spotting him 5 cars. Take care to all. Thanks for letting share my best day ever.
