I am restoring a 1970 Chevelle SS. I have researched books, and web sites for a comprehensive list of engine compartment, suspension, frame, rearend ect. PAINT CODES, but I am having a problem with locating this or any source. Is the GM Restoration Semi Gloss paint used on the frame as well as inner fenders, firewall? Also, I have seen many articles and the Chevelle Restoration book talks about 0 degree, 30 degree gloss or semi gloss, 0 degree satin-black. What is this? I have talked to my painter and he doesn't know what this means because the skies are the limits when it comes to shades of colors. If there is a PAINT CODE for this type of detailing please let me know or forward a COMPREHENSIVE list for undercarriage detailing,
Thanks, Curtis.

Curtis,
I found a list of underhood finishes (http://www.chevelles.com/aces/vol5/paint_codes.html)for a 70 SS from the ACES site. It doesn't tell you what 30% or 60% gloss is but it tells you what needs painted, plated, or left au naturel

Try this link. It will help you with the datailing in your engine compartment.
I used it when I was deatailing the engine compartment on my Canadian70SS.

Thanks Richard,
I have been on ACES site and printed the information in the past, but it gives a general idea of the colors used, but not specific paint codes. I thank-you your response. Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Curtis.

Thanks Luis,
I have printed this posting in the past. Great information! The only problem is the paint codes. I can and have seen the paints from Year One and The Eastwood Co., but to have it sent to me in Canada there is some paper work to go through at customs because these products are "Dangerous Goods". If I can't find the codes I will have to go this direction. Thanks for your time. much appreciated.
Curtis.

Curtis, I've ordered paints from Eastwood recently, and they just come up by Purolator courier. There has never been a hassle for me and the boxes are labelled.

I paint military airplanes, and I would be willing to bet these degrees of gloss were readings taken with a gloss meter at GM. We have to take readings of everything we paint on the military aircraft. It has to fall under a certain percent for flat and a different for gloss.
