Our trip was pretty uneventful. Here were the highlights from the road trip:

My 7 year old almost got arrested in Mississippi for taking a leak on the side of the road. The highway patrol guy has ZERO sense of humor (and obviously didn't have any kids). On second thought, I think it was me who almost got arrested...

The guys at the UHaul place in Houston where I rented my trailer are idiots. Result, I drug wires and chains on the road for several hundred miles. The guys at the UHaul place in Nashville were awesome, and got me all fixed up for $30.

Will they EVER finish working on I-10 in the Beaumont area???

We saw Graceland!

We saw the absolute world's best ever double rainbow on Saturday evening, just south of Memphis. Horizon-to-horizon, clear as the nose on your face. My kids are still mad that we didn't go chasing the pot of gold...

Why does the Pizza Hut in Jackson, MS need an armed guard?

I really liked the movie "Castaway", with Tom Hanks. But if you are driving, and can only listen and not watch, it's pretty boring.

My 2-year old likes the movie "Finding Nemo". A lot. We watched it at least 5 times on the road. I never want to see it again.

How was your ride?

Here's that rainbow. It was so big and close that I couldn't get the whole thing in the picture. Best I've ever seen. The sunset off to the right of the interstate was awesome, too.

Sunday, I saw this on the side of the road. The fire trucks had not arrived yet, but the police were there watching and trying to keep everyone moving by as quickly as possible.

Makes me glad I carry a fire extinguisher.

A rainbow and a ford on fire. Does it get any better than that? :D

Yes, it does get better than that, well maybe. I was cruising down Interstate 81 somewhere in VA when I saw a guy with no shirt on swinging a pair of nunchucks around like he was a ninja. I wish I had the camera handy for that one. That had to be the highlight of my road travels to CB05. My cousin and I laughed at that for 3 days.
Bad things that happened:
I had to drive back north 20 miles into VA to get a room to stay at on Saturday night June 4th while I was attending Dukesfest, that made me angry and to boot, this one Super 8 that I pulled into with the trailer had no room for a trailer and the lot was L shaped. I could not back it out so I decided to use their lawn as a turn around.
I also had to try and attempt a panic stop because some moron decided to whip out to an exit on Interstate 40 at the last possible second which caused everyone else who was doing 75 MPH to slam their brakes on. Ever try to do that while dragging a 10,000 pound trailer? That doesn't work to well so I ended up on the shoulder in the dirt.
Then just outside Knoxville on I-40, another brain surgeon in a mini van damn near lost control and almost slammed into the trailer.
Last but not least, some white haired old lady cut me off then decided to slow down in front of me, once again, that's not a good idea to do in front of 15,000 pounds of rolling iron. So in turn I moved over to the next lane pulled up next to her and gave her a little trailer shuffle action.
The ride home was smooth and uneventful at least.

I lost an air line to my right front Shockwave airbag on I-40 outside Henryetta,OK. When the inner fender dropped down on the tire at around 75mph,the resulting smokeshow was something to behold.:D Even stopped the traffic on our side of the interstate.

The wife and I saw that awesome rainbow, too.
