I posted this over on the Stovebolt site (yes I have a 1948 Chevy truck) and thought you guys may get a kick out of it too.
I left the size of these documents large so they could be easily seen. They are worth the time it takes to open, I promise.
I have nothing to ad but the question, "Where is this truck now"?
This is from the July/August 1988 issue of Tex Smiths excellent magazine "Hotrod Mechanix".
This will make you feel alot better about your tiny little restoration project.

Cool Martin. I noticed in the story that it was said the there are "zero" street rod made parts in the truck, I disagree, street rods are made pretty much like that truck with the rodder remaking and redesigning it as he see's fit. Still a really cool truck and story and it makes some restorations seem minor by the sheer amount of labor involved.

Martin Ive seen that truck in some old truck mags...way cool. Ive even got some pics of that truck my boss saw it in person, the pics dont do the truck justice. The truck rocks.
Now if I can only find those pics of that 50 ford shrunk down, that was pretty damn sweet too. Thanks for sharing Martin...Eric

Just as I'm trying to reassure my wife that my addiction won't get out of hand (Chevelle parts already all over the garage, driveway, and yard...) you go and post this.
Oh, well. Too ambitious for me; yet. I'm just hoping to do a decent enough job on the Chevelle that I can get the courage up to take apart the '51 3100 5 Window sitting in the driveway.
Cheers,
mark.

Guys, I was just telling my wife that I need to get a shed out back for my parts. Get this, I have THREE cars completely torn apart! My '65 Gran Sport conv, '72 Bug, and my '48 Chevy truck. Now, don't think that it looks like a wrecking yard, it doesn't. But I have stored in the garage (makes it DAMN hard to actually WORK on one of them that way) attic, and at my brothers shop till this past week end. He moved to a much smaller shop. SO, now I have a trailer full of boxes marked "GS", TRUCK, BUG!!!
I have to get one of these dang things done!!

That dude must not have a family. I worked like that for a little while and it wore me out and almost got me divorced! The last part of the article mentioned what I was thinking all along. Did anyone make a mold of this body yet? How many S-10's are out there now???? Thanks Martin.
