When My 71 Chevelle Sits A Few (3 Or More) Days There's A Puddle Of Fluid Running Out My Garage Door...if I Drive It Every Day There's Just A Small Spot. My Friend Ron Says His C3 Corvette Did The Same Thing. Anyone Have Any Answers? Thanks, Phil

the tranny in my jimmy use to do that, I just changed the pan gasket, I got the neoprene type, and hasn't leaked since, Jim

Could be a pan gasket, front or rear seal, shift shaft seal, detent cable seal, dipstick seal, etc. Dry it off and take a peek then. I like the Farpak or Accopac pan gaskets as they simply do not leak if properly installed- dry or with a light coat of trans assembly gel, and torqued to 95 inch/pounds.

A fast way to do this: Go to the auto parts store and ask for the Leak detection kits with dye. Put the dye in the transmission and drive the car enough to mix/circulate the dye. Bring the vehicle back, put it up on a lift, or jackstands, and then with the ultraviolet light check to see where the leak(s) are. Repair from there.
