Searching on the net found out that the 72 chevelle came standard with power disk brakes(or was it power booster) not sure now. Why does my car have manual brakes in it?? thanks for the help CHELKAMINO Jun 9th, 05, 11:27 PM A majority of Chevelle's throughout the years came with a variety of brake combos. I've seen manual 4 wheel drum.....manual front disc/rear drum and power front disc/rear drum....and maybe more that I don't know about. Alot of it depended on what size motor your Chevelle came from the factory with. Most inline 6 cylinder cars came equipped with manual drum brakes.
