my glass window has broke out of my 69 malibu vert. Do I have to replace the whole top or can the window be installed only? can you let me know what needs to be done to replace the vert switch

I know many years ago on our old 69 Impala convert, the glass came loose from the panel that it was bonded to. Tried to glue it or something of the sort, but it didn't hold up for long. Wound up having a trim shop replace the whole back fabric panel which the window was bonded to, and of course it came with new glass bonded to it.

Replacing the top switch is fairly straightforward. Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove all the dash panel screws, pull the dash panel out far enough to access the switch, and remove the wiring connector which goes to the switch. There are 2 nuts which hold the bezel and switch in the dash panel. Remove them, remove bezel and switch, replace switch, and then put it all back in reverse order.

The hardest part will be finding a new switch  Good luck!!

That's good to know....must be something new in the past couple years, 'cause they used to be like hen's teeth.
