i have a 68 el camino and i want to do some sheet metal work and i want to media blast the body. I was thinking of purchasing
the lincon electric weld pack 100 from
the Eastwood company, I only want to know if the 100 would be suitable for doing small repairs? Now i also want to get a sand blaster i have found one at harbor freight tools for 89.00 it is a pressurized
40 lb capacity unit. would this be a pretty good choice? also I am planning to use it
with a 6hp 33gal craftsman air comp. W/150psi.so i would like to know anybodys advise one these particlar tools and would they be able to do the job. thx

checkout phishfuds ? on media blast or DA strip. Not meaning to sound like a jerk but if you plan to clean and weld practice on other stuff first. and that air compressor may not be big enough to sand blast.

That compressor will work but will have a hard time keeping up with the air demands of that sand blaster. Meaning you might be able to get only say around 5 min of blasting time out of every ten minutes. Youll have to stop and let the compressor build up the prsseure again and wait awhile to cool down, you dont want it to over heat.

Ive never used anything from that company but sowe do like the stuff that harbor sells. But a pressurized sand blaster is the only way to go when blasting, the siphon feeds use alot more air and are less effienct.

I hope you are not going to use sand to blast that car! Sand is way to aggresive and builds up to much heat to blast sheetmetal. The only areas I would use sand on a car is the floors, firewall and the door jams and even when doing those, caution must be taken to avoid warpage of the metal. The term MEDIA BLASTING is used for medias other then sand like plasic, walnut shells, glass and baking soda. Plastic willnot remove rust where soda will.

Great for sheetmetal if you use it with the gas conversion kit, and alot of practice.
