I'm doing the 2dr wagon, body off boogie. I'd like to get the doors, hood, tailgate, etc. chemically stripped to clean rust and paint inside and out. A company in Portland (Oregon) want $150 a piece to dip and $1500 to do the body.Ouch! I have more than one car to do, and along friends could use the chemicals over and over. I have a way to raise and lower the parts/car body into the tank. The tank wouldn't need to be very big for just the body (about 6X14). A scrap yard close by has a few stainless tanks that a car body would fit in, so that's kind of figured out. As far as DEQ??? Well.... Keep it on the down-low, no work for the general pulic and hopefully a chemical that is water neutralized. My hole thing is if I'm gonna part with my green I'm gonna have something I can use again. Spending $2000 to have one old car cleaned...??? NOT. Any info. you guys have would be great. How cool would it be if the local Chevelle club you're in had its own dip tank to share amongst the members?
