Trying to find a ppg or dupont paint code number for the black insert on th SS sport wheels on chevelles and camaros. Argent silver is the base color but whats the dark???

One book says 99L which is gloss black in DuPont. Other references claim the wheels were argent and dark argent which is what I painted my wheels with. If I were to do them over again I will go with the black and argent.

If you are talking about the 69-70 SS wheels

I don't have the paint code but the pocket area was a dark charcoal gray with fairly heavy metallic content
I know on a lot of cars they have been repainted black though

SEM Bumper Coater paint # 39253 Medium Titainium Metallic, seems to be really close. Used it on mine and many can't tell the difference. Probably not exact but close.

When I painted mine, I mixed some argent silver in with some satin black and they came out very close to an original rim that I had. It wasn't a scientific approach, but I was happy with the result.

Thanks for all the info. Decided to go with one of the Sem numbers, dark charcoal metallic, sorta middle of the road. Can always change it if I want. Thanks again.
