: New 1/4s are in
daveseitz Dec 29th, 04, 6:54 PM Just got the call that the new 1/4s are in for the wagon. They were made by Sherman and I hope they are decent quality. Pick them up on Thursday and maybe get started on it this weekend. Now all the fun begins with hidden costs to come.
WayneK Dec 30th, 04, 9:28 AM Dave , looking forward to hear some feedback on these New Stampings.
Cam Sweet Dec 30th, 04, 2:25 PM I couldn't wait for the nod, I ordered two sets this morning. One set for the El Camino and one set for the wagon. Hope it isn't a huge waste of $1200.

Cam Hey Cam! How are those projects coming along?
You should swing by my place one of these days and check out my new project... My neighbor has a sweet big block 69 Chevelle project he's working on too!
later!
WayneK Dec 30th, 04, 4:48 PM Your The Man Cam....
I'll be waiting for some feed back...
Maybe I should just ignore this POST and not want to hear any NEWS.. because Then I'll be tempted to rip my 65 Elky apart !
and I just started my 38 Coupe Project...
daveseitz Dec 30th, 04, 7:14 PM Just got home and put truck with 1/4s in the shed. Will get them opened tomarrow and check them out.

daveseitz Dec 31st, 04, 12:26 AM Rick they are going on a 65 2dr wagon. If GM had any I would have bought them instead. Sherman seems to be the only gig around to try for my money.
baddbob71 Dec 31st, 04, 12:52 AM Sherman seems to have some decent sheetmetal from what I've seen, not a perfect oem replacement but nice heavy guage and definately workable. Hope yours are nice. The best time to inspect sheetmetal is before the delivery service leaves, I make them wait till I open the packages and inspect, that way the damage if any is better documented.
flywheel Dec 31st, 04, 11:58 AM Gosh, if they make them for a 65 they should for a 70-72 also...I have some elky patch quarters for my 72 now but full 1/4's would be nicer...
Would they be at Sherman.com? Good luck with yours....
Rick
daveseitz Jan 1st, 05, 8:48 AM Opened the boxes and they look good. Some issues with them but better than partials. Can't post a pic, but can email a pic to anyone.
WayneK Jan 1st, 05, 10:39 AM I would be interested in an honest opinion and a photo..
As stated in a previous post.. About two years ago Sherman had there 66/67 elcamino stampings at Carlisle.. Not bashing. but were patch panel quality only....Wrinkels around radi forms , No center body line AT ALL.. stress metal cracks from forming the wheel lip, the door edge and the permitter of most all formed edges.
daveseitz Jan 1st, 05, 4:23 PM Wayne you have mail.
Derek69SS Jan 1st, 05, 4:29 PM Dave, send me a pic and I'll post it.
daveseitz Jan 1st, 05, 6:05 PM Derek, you have mail.
Thanks, Dave
Derek69SS Jan 1st, 05, 9:43 PM Dave, with my software, I couldn't get the pics down to a useable file-size without making them tiny and blurry graemlins/clonk.gif Wierd thing is, the pics I usually take, can be twice this size, clear, and be half this file-size
This is the best I could do:

daveseitz Jan 1st, 05, 9:47 PM Thanks Derek better than nothing.
Cam Sweet Jan 2nd, 05, 6:45 PM Oops....
Cam Sweet Jan 2nd, 05, 6:46 PM Well, Dave, If you're like me, they're better than what's there. I only need about the bottom foot from the front of the wheel opening to the tailight on the Elky. The wagon, I'm afraid had the wheel wells massaged (with a sledge) to fit some wider meets and need the whole quarters. We'll see!! Mine should be here in a week or so.
Ben,
What have you got going on? I thought you sold all your toys.
