Could someone please let me know if these numbers came off an M22? Thanks.
************************************. The part numbers on the case are as follows: Driver side #'s ~ 6261886 Born on 09-10-73. Passanger side #'s 5 K 338935 G(\)13 Stamped #'s 142117099 Tailshaft #'s 8261884 GM 1.
****************************************
Also, does anyone know where I can get a nicely rebuilt one? Cash is not the biggest concern.

I could't find anything on those #'s here
www.gearzone.net/ (http://www.gearzone.net/)

Take the side cover off, if the gears look like in my M-22 pic then it's a M-22.
Look at the gear angle of the M-20 and M-21.

Dan,
None of those numbers sound like Muncie numbers.

I agree, I don't recognize any of the numbers, but a guy selling one gave me them.

Any Idea where I can get a real nice M22?

Call D&L Transmission at 516-351-2237.His name is Larry Fischer and he is very good.If he doesn't have one he can probably build one or find one.

That trans could be either a Muncie, or a BW ST10, the 142117049 number is for a 1974 car built in Canada... I guess it COULD be a crusher....no P number, though.

The M22 has no rings on the input shaft, the M21 will have one ring, and the M20 has two rings on the input shaft but if the trans parts have been swapped around the rings can't be used to idenify the trans.
The last M22 I saw for sale was $2000.00
