I am going to install some rocker moldings on my 65 chevelle, Which does not have the hole for the clips to mount to. I was wondering if any one knows the correct measurements for these holes or has any info on this subject. Thanx

I have no experience with 65's, but most of the similar mouldings use fasteners that slide back & forth on the back side of the mouldings. No holes through them. Except maybe for the ends. Look at the moulding & the right clips. Line it up where it belongs and mark the holes from there.

The 65 rocker moldings use brackets behind the molding which screw into rocker panel. There are 2 per side, each bracket is around 18" long. The forward one also attaches into the fender. The moldings are also screwed directly into the rocker panel from the bottom. There is a picture of the setup in the assembly manual. Unfortunately there is no details given on the holes, because they are assumed to already exist in the body (with the exception of one in the fender).

anyone know where I can get the "smooth" rocker trim (not "ribbed" SS) mouldings
for my '66 Malibu...? I've tried Paddock,
OPG, NPD- (only SS style available)

The strips (two per side) mounting holes are.
15/16 down from the top edge of the rocker panel. The holes start 3 1/2" back from the from edge and are spaced evenly @10 3/4"
for a total of 7 holes.
I measure both sides of my 64 and they were identical.
Have fun.
