I have a 65 chevelle convert that has had the rear 1/4 panel removed from it. it appears that when it was removed the complete panel was taken. from the door jamb back. looks to be a clean job the spot welds were drilled out the inner wheel well is intack. ok so how hard will it be to replace this panel with another one? I have aquired a 1/4 panel from another 65 convertable that was cut from in front of the door jamb back. it has the inner fender well and part of the floor and trunk pans. the car was literaly 1/4ed. my thought is to drill out the spot welds on the new piece and try and bring it back in line with the rest of the car. what should I be watching for or does anyone have recomendations? should I get someone who has done this before to complete this part of the work? any thoughts?

WOw you guys in CA are lucky,,, a 65 conv 1/4 !!!!
OK ..From your discription.. the orginial 1/4 was done at all the factory seams.. waht about the door to wheel well area pocker seam ?
cut high or removed ?

You will have to drill out the spot welds on the doner 1/4 section.and the leaded seam at the trunk filler panel..

If you comfortable with this process tril fir the panel with LOTS of vice grips and cleco pins if you have drilled through spot weld holes.
Hopefully the door and trunk are still on.. if not install them and fit paying attention to door /trunk gaps...
Then if you koe a pro body guy.. offer him a free night of pizza and brew, to come over and check out your work.. Do this B-4 you even think of turning on your welder.....
He my even buzz a few plug welds ,to give you and idia what there to look like...

PS also have the car sitting on the ground or the jack stands under it's suspension..while installing/fitting any panel.
