I weighted my 67 today. Everything is stock. I did box the lower control arms which would add some weight. My engine a alumuiem headed small block. The weight, without driver was 3380. I was surprised. I thought the car would weight around 3500. What does your 66 or 67 weight?

Chevelles got progressively heavier with time, the '64/'65 are the lightest, the '66/'67 up a bit, and the '68/'72 were the heaviest.

My manual everything, big block, lift off hood, full roll cage, '65 Elky weighs 3,380 lbs with a full tank of gas. And to further confound those who automatically assume the Elky is wildly front heavy, my front weight was 1,820 lbs - which gives me a 54/46 weight distribution, not bad at all.

My 66 Manual everthing, big block, and glass hood, weighs in at 3360.
I'm currently getting a Roll Bar, so we'll see what it weighs then.

A friend 66 SS fully restored weighed 3860 on the same scale.

My '66 Malibu with an AFR headed Dart Big M (540), th400, 12 bolt, full bucket/console interior including sound deadner, Goodmark steel 2" cowl hood, oversized front and rear sway bars (approx 30lbs each), boxed lift bars, Edelbrock adj uppers and an Alumatech radiator weighed in at 3495.

It is a non A/C car, at the time, had 3/8 tank of gas (7 1/2 gal), an empty trunk and was rolling on Weld DragStar's with M/T 275 L60-15 rear tires.

Perry,
Just checked out your profile, beautiful car by the way, looks just like mine back in high school. White with red interior when I bought it in 1978, but painted red my sophmore year. Shortly thereafter, the interior was redone in black though.

What really caught my attention, we were born on the same day. Not just the same birthday, but the same age, as well.

Rowdy, that is quite a coincidence! I see your profile shows yours as Black now! I also see you have put much more power behind yours! I like that! I am going to go with the Weld Drag Stars as well as I like that look. Next addintion though is gears for the rearend.
