Is it easyer to just drop the dash face to remove the factory speaker or just do it up through the underside?--help--thanks--67rat

You might be able to get to it by removing the heater control and the radio and getting it from underneath. I was looking to do the same with my 66.

That speaker is buried up in there. I'd just drop the dash down to get it. You might be able to fight it out of there through the radio hole but I'll bet you'd damage the new one going back in that way.

I removed/replaced the center dash speaker in my non AC '67 by removing the radio and heater controls along with the complete glove box... took a little twisting and maneuvering but got it out fairly easy.

I just did that very same thing on my 66, Remove the heater and face plate a little angling or tipping one end up and the other down it comes out without to much trouble, It is up there aways.
