I own a 1972 454ss el camino with A/C and A/T that needs a new radiator. The radiator I removed is 2-5/8" thick and has 4 rows. The problem is that according to several parts houses this is a 1971 radiator. The replacement radiators suggested for a 1972 are either a 2" 3 row or a 1-5/8" 4 row. Can anyone tell me the specs of the radiator I should get?
Thanks,
Peter

Well, I can't say which one is correct for you - but it sounds like you need cooling capacity, and I use Alumitech's - drop in, looks stock, with all the cooling capacity you will need. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Do a search you will find plenty of info on them.

I have to agree with Mark. My stock radiator was barely up to cooling the 396. When the 496 went in, I knew it would be an issue. I put out the bucks for the alumitech and consider it money well spent. NO cooling issues, and it is a top quality ,beautiful piece. I was going to paint it black so it looked stock, but it was just too pretty!
