Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forums and I sure am glad I found you guys. Now on to my question.

I've had a 66 Chevelle (300 Deluxe, 2 door sedan) since I was 14 years old. Slowly but surely I've been restoring a little here and there.

A couple years ago, I noticed that my trunk floor is rusted out around the inner wheel well (driver's side), so I ordered a patch panel. As I proceeded to clean up the area, I noticed that the rust has spread to the bottom of the wheel well where it meets the trunk floor. I've looked in a few places, but cannot find a patch panel for the wheel well. Does anyone know of any companies producing these?

Also, have any of you tackled this particular area of your Chevelle before? I'm very inexperienced with replacement panels. Any tips and advice you can give me on repairing this rust is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

It's not uncommon for the rusr to eat away the back section both RH and LH side between the body mount and the wheel house.
To fix the wheel house you must make your own patches for the rear wheel house... to keep it looking orginial.attention to the inner and outer seam area is criticial.
but vary doable..

This is my patch job on my 67 GTO, should be similar to yours. When I took the picture I still hadn't trimmed the bottom or installed the quarter patch and trunk filler panel, but you get the idea. I used 18 guage sheetmetal, wich is what the original should be. It was all butt welded with a MIG. Start by making templates out of thick paper or cardboard (I used sandpaper packaging). Then get yourself a 4" grinder with a cutoff disc.

nevermind the red circle.
