I Got A Set Of Ford Windstar Fans For My 69 Bbc And The Fan Motor On The Driverside Hits The Power Steering Pump.
I Swapped The Small Block 350 For A Bb 396 Last Summer And I Used The Power Steering Pump From The Small Block. Could This Be The Reason? I Was Not Aware The There Was A Difference. I Have Seen Some Pics Posted Of Bb Cars With The Windstar Fans And They Look Like There Is Plenty Of Room, Kinda Stumped.

I was thinking it was a merc. contour fan that wrked well.

I myself used a 93-96 chev venture van (3.8) fan/motor/shroud. the lower screwed directly into the lower support and the top I took a piece of 1/4" wide or so flat stock to hide bolts under the rad support cover. it is very slim, and works very well. this also is OEM for various other models.

I used Windstar fans in a '71 with a small block. It's the same frame as yours so should work. I have a big block car but can't measure it right now to compare the distance.

Must be the pump, I have those fans in my 71 with BB, and it's a little tight, but fits fine.

How about turning the Fan upside down so the small fan motor is on the pass side?
I almost did that on my 68 (which was the first link/picture in this thread) because i thought it wouldns fit... make sure your radiator is up against the core support all the way. and the fan should fit right up against the radiator. i had to cut/modify mine a little bit
