does anyone know of a website where you can cross reference GM part numbers for their description and/or application? i've tried web searches, aftermarket sites, and GM sites, but no luck. i have some small packaged parts that i can't identify. If someone can cross these, i would appreciate it: GM p/n 5691747 GR. 6.560 "Plug"; GM p/n 5687998 "Shaft Serv Kit". I believe they are early Chevy passenger car parts, Chevelle or Impala or similar. Thanks...

PART TITLE: HYDRAULIC STEERING ADAPTER VALVE SHAFT AND SPRING REPAIR KIT. the pic looks to be a shaft, though may include other parts-hard to see.

these parts go together in the power steering control part.

ANYONE who owns a C-2 with power steering has or will need these. The seals leak after about a year or so, worse if it sits a lot. They are available from several sources, but if these are in GM boxes (NOS) you might try to sell over at the Corvettes.com website. That is if the rubber is still pliable.

they may also fit your chevelle, but i don't have my paper catalogs avalable currently to refer to.

unless you plan on rebuilding you unit, go ahead and try to re-sell them.

Hi, thanks again everyone. they were in a box of stuff that i bought for Ebay, so that is probably where i'll put them. They are still in their packaging, and the rubber and metal pieces look good. i just want to give them to a "good home". I have a later model Chevelle, so i doubt they would be applicable to it.
