I have seen that a number of the repro places are offering repro front lower control arms for the Chevelle. Has anyone seen these pieces? The price isn't too bad considering what the wrecking yards want for the used ones these days. I would like to know if they are as thick as the factory pieces or if they cut corners somewhere to make it easier.

There was a guy on here who had a 1969? El Camino. His website was onrails.net and how he was making it handle like it was "on rails"... but I just tried his website and it didn't work
I BELIEVE he had new lower control arms that he re-enforced around the balljoint and Boxed the midsection

I will do a search and if i find something I will post again

I firmly believe in boxing even the originals as many have experienced failure at the LBJ area. The reproduction pieces use a thinner gauger stock and it's probably an offshore grade as well. Buy them and box 'em up; you should have no problems.

Pete Lohr (moderator of the Stationwagon forum) has a boxing kit. Saves cutting and pasting and cutting etc. If you're handy with a torch or plasma cutter you can do your own. I used his kit and boxed my stock lowers before they went with my frame to gavanizer last week.
