Hey guy this engine is not for a chevelle but rather for my 56 bel air, but I know there a lot of people here that know engines. I have a high 12 second small block in my car now, but was looking to buy a big block and came across this one. I know not all the info is there, but does it sound like a good engine? Do you guys think it will make anywhere near 450-500 HP and the same in torque? Also would I make more power with the tunnel ram or a regular intake and single carb? If I won't make much more power with the tunnel ram I would rather not cut a hole in my hood at this point. Well I want to but not ready to cut up a good stock hood. I also like that he has the reciepts. If it has a stock crank and rods will those hole up to the power level of this engine?

454 chevy bored .40 over. Weiand high rise tunnel ram, 2 450 holley carbs, lopey hydraulic comp cam. .588 lift. 1.8 Harland Sharp full roller rockers. Mickey Thompson valve covers, Comp pushrods, mallory distributor, $1,500 in heads. ported to the tunnel ram. Strip valve job, 2.25 intake 1.88 exhaust ported and polished, 97 cc closed chamber oval port heads, forged pistons, 10 1/2:1 compression. Engine is pratically brand new. Has about 300 miles on it. No miles on the heads and intake. Were on a project that was down sized. Have all reciepts. Also have single carb open plenum edelbrock trantula intake available along with a stock set of big block oval port heads.

He is looking to get $2500 for it, but I might be able to get it for less.

Thanks for any and all help.

If you can hear it run to verify, 2500 could be a fair deal. I dont have any expierence with tunnel rams but I think you could make more power with a high rise and the right size carb.
