This is the greatest site around.....Now, for my problem....I need advice on how to remove the rear 1/4 window mechanism for repair......this is a manual top car.....I took the seat and panels out to see how to get it out , but it does'nt look like there is enough room to get the unit out....I know somebody out there has fought this battle before so I'm looking for some help for the sequence of removal and what to watch out for......Thanks in advance

I changed mine from manual to electric and the rear mechanisums are a real bit%$ to get out. First I unbolted the tracks from the inside panel. Then I slid them off the rollers and got the tracks out through the hole in the inside quarter panel. Then the glass pulls up through the slot in the body.
What ever you do, make sure you don't disturb the threaded adjustment screws. If you have to mark them so you can get them back to the original settings. I spent weeks trying to get them to align again.

Heed 67shovel warning. The threaded sloted end adjusters. sometimes come out of the tracks and some times the washered/nut will come off no problem.
I like to remove the dumb/dumb that covers the mounting hardware and shoot a coat of paint (rattle can) where the fasteners and addjusters are located. Then if everything comes apart as planed it a peice of CAKE to reassemble.
remove the acess panel, then the screws that hold the track to the 1/4 glass, then the glass out. The wheather strip my be a problem if so remove'em.
now you on to the regulator and track/wheel-runchannel .A PITA.

When I took mine out, I had a copy of the Fisher Body Manual... I think it kind of goes over it step by step... I replced the manuals with power assemblies...

My problem started when I bought this car on a beautiful day with the windows and top down......I'm now left with the legacy of the paint guy who took everything apart and just thru it back together.....I don't have a problem adjusting things back to being perfect and I appreciate the advise....but this is more than an adjustment problem as the regulator teeth don't engage so I have to remove the unit to repair it.........Thanks for the help........
