Just some in site if anyone has tried this, what I am about to do.I have a 70 SS cowl hood no induction flap door.under hood in front of screen on back part of hood,Gm put a metal piece across cowl section it does block air from windsheild from entering to air cleaner,I guess cowl induction has a flap door to let in air here,on hood.I paln to remove this piece of
metal to let in air from windsheild, should help cool air get to carb.Has any one tried this? Dave.

Dave,
That's what I plan on doing with my SS fiberglass cowl hood. Though I plan on drilling holes instead of just opening it all up. Sort of a cheap "screen" if you will.

I did that to my 71 back in the 70's.Does let air into the motor area. When hood was wet, the drops would slid to the back of the hood and suck under the lip as the air pulled them under while driving.Looked cool  I plan on doing the same for my wagon I just bought graemlins/hurray.gif
