I used your advice in a previous thread about wire feed welding and man am I loving that Lincoln "Pro Mig 135". One question I still have is while I was welding last night, it seemed like the wire was poking at the joint I was welding (wire speed was 3)(heat was D) or at least not feeding smoothly. What do I need to adjust ?
Thaks again graemlins/waving.gif

John, I am sorry, I am not understanding what you mean. Is this "poking" the wire hitting the surface and then burning back? After this burning back, it leaves a gap from the tip to the surface again so it then "pokes" the surface again as the wire hits it and then burns back?
That is the only thing I can think of that would be like a "poking" motion. If that is it, the wire speed is too slow. Or, both the wire speed and the heat are too low.

You described it perfectly graemlins/thumbsup.gif I will increase my wire speed and leave the heat at the high setting it is at already. I actually thought it was pushing the wire out too fast last night so I slowed it down to just below 3 and it kept happening, but now I think I understand how the slow wire speed could cause that. Thanks ;)
