Whats the trick to getting these pieces to seperate? There is about 3 diffent pieces of metal sandwitched together here. Rear seat then the pan over the rear axel (part of the trunk i suppose) and finally the divider ontop. I need to remove that pan over the rear axel and repair it since there is no repo. Problem is there are so many spot welds in that thing and they are nearly impossible to find / drill out. (1969)

thanks for the help

i am not quite sure of your question but i will give it a stab. the top speaker shelf that is attached to the divider is very thin to work with. i use an airchisel and work slow.then you have the braces that attach to your wheelwell, but these are easy to get to with the spotbit. the dropdown braces have to be seperated also, the shelf extends inside the trunk and attaches to your trunklid hinges ,your panel between backglass and lid is attached to it also. so if its the shelf you are tryin to change its not hard but it all has to be removed ,until your ride looks like an elcamino.

im actully talking about the lower portion. It goes like this:

___ divider
___ rear axel pan
___ some sort of sub brace
___ rear seat pan

Its all sandwitched together with about 60 spot welds the lower part of the divider closest to the bottom of the car.

You know where the rear seat pan turns up and goes flat? That sandwitched area there. I managed to seperate the old rear seat pan but am having a really hard time trying to seperate the divider from the rest of the metal. (it connects to the trunk pan that isint reproduced) the metal under the speakers.

Does anyone know how to seperate this? im going to snap a few pictures today.
